In the 1940s, Bledsoe used his musical talent to serve his country when he became the face of a war bonds tour. Just a few months before his death, Bledsoe performed in a pageant entitled “…To Make a Better World,” presented by the Los Angeles Chapter of Hadassah at the Biltmore Hotel on May 6, 1943.
