Holloway stood at 6 feet tall and weighed 180 pounds. Though he threw right-handed, Holloway posed a threat as a switch-hitter. Bill Foster, Rube Foster’s half-brother, described Crush Holloway to historian John Holway, stating, “Crush Holloway was fast. He was rough too. He’d put his spikes right here, in your mouth, if you opened it. But he was always nice. He’d hurt you, then jump up and say, ‘Man, I’m sorry.’”
