While traveling the world together as a young couple in the early 1980s, Janet spent a month at Dr. Francis Shaeffer’s L’Arbi Fellowship in Switzerland. Jimmy traveled to Southeast Asia, but Janet, pregnant at the time, could not accompany him because of the threat of certain diseases. She stayed in Switzerland learning and growing in her own faith, which went on to influence her leadership of Mission Waco. They would go on to travel to India together many times.
