After initial rescue efforts ceased and all bodies were accounted for, volunteers began the long process of clearing the rubble of the R. T. Dennis and Tom Padgett buildings. An entire week after the tornado was designated as “cleanup week,” allowing people to take time off their regular jobs and help with Waco’s recovery.
