One night at the Fadals, Elvis decided he wanted to go see the movie No Time for Sergeants. They called ahead to the Waco Theatre and asked that the manager, Claude Stewart, keep Elvis’s arrival quiet. By his own admission, Claude could not help but tell his wife and invite a photographer to snap a picture. The photographer snapped this picture of Claude and Elvis together. But Claude’s wife had called some friends and told them the news, and soon the buzz in the theater was undeniable. Elvis and the Fadals had to exit quickly through the back door without getting to enjoy the whole movie.
