Kitok Restaurant was highlighted as a unique dining option for Baylor alumni in town for homecoming in 1979. It was listed as one of several international restaurants in Waco in The Baylor Lariat. Bob Darden, then an entertainment writer for the Waco Tribune-Herald, noted that it was an out-of-the-way restaurant worth visiting if popular local restaurants closer to campus were at full capacity during homecoming weekend.
