Coming Together (2014)

Waco area Bahá’ís gather weekly at the Waco Bahá’í Center for prayers and devotions on an informal basis. In addition, they meet formally every nineteen days in accordance o the Bahá’í calendar, a solar calendar with years composed of nineteen moths with nineteen days each, along with an extra period of “Intercalary Days.” The year begins at Naw-Rúz, the day of the vernal equinox in Tehran, Iran, celebrated as the New Year. Each month has a name that corresponds with an attribute of God, including Splendor, Glory, Knowledge, and Sovereignty. Bahá’ís also gather to celebrate eleven holy days, including the birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the Ascension of Bahá’u’lláh, and the Ascension of Abdu’l-Bahá.
